Taste The West Coast At Vygevallei Farm Stall

It’s no secret that I love a good road trip (you can check out some of my favourite road trip photos), and I also love a stopping to browse, shop and eat at one of the many Farm Stalls dotted along the long roads in South Africa. I recently visited Vygevallei Farm Stall located on the R27 on the Cape West Coast.

What’s a road trip without stopping to buy rusks, fudge, jams or fresh farm style bread?

Taste The West Coast At Vygevallei Farm Stall

Vygevallei Farm Stall is a great stop when you enter (or leave) the West Coast, giving you a real taste of the region. I was invited by West Coast Way to enjoy true West Coast hospitality at the Vygevallei Farm Stall and was promised good food, coffee and a wide variety of West Coast goodies on offer in their shop. They also have a Wine Shop that stocks locally produced wines – you can taste and buy – and they are open 7 days a week.

What can you expect: Vygevallei Farm Stall & Wine House has a wholesome menu, you can look forward to all sorts of tasty treats, including freshly baked farm bread, homemade butter and cheeses, pasta, preserves, local wine, farm breakfasts, cakes, dried fruit, and organic herbs. They are famous for their pies, butter and a wide variety of jams and preserves.

The Farm Stall is also one of the only places that stock the entire range of Swartland Gourmet Preserves.

What did I love about them: Their shelves are full of locally made products, farm fresh eggs, vegetables & fruit, they sell ginormous muffins, samoosas, and pies AND they have the most beautiful farm fresh bread – it’s so good that if you don’t come early enough, it will be gone by about noon (this is what I witnessed when I was there).
