Pretville: Pretty in Pink

I spent some time exploring Hartebeespoort a couple of weeks ago and came across this quirky 1950’s town. This bright retro sign caught my eye while I was driving around Harties.

The sign screamed: Pretville and I just had to investigate. I had no idea and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. I stepped back in time in and there was a lot of pink. Pink everywhere! The town is full of candy colours, retro signs, vintage cars and offers bioscope where you can watch the Pretville movie. They have a cute retro diner that serves delicious milkshakes, burgers and hotdogs.

The town is the film set of the Afrikaans musical movie by Hartiwood Films. This 50’s inspired Afrikaans musical is set the small, bright and vibrant town of Pretville.
